Jack and Jeanne Acheson-Munõs

Jack and Jeanne Acheson-Munos were appointed as career missionaries with the Free Methodist Church in March 2004. They have been serving in Haiti since January 2005.


 

Andy and Lizet Bowen

The Bowens are missionaries with World Gospel Mission, serving in Paraguay. Andy teaches other missionaries "Guarani", the native language of Paraguay. Andy and Lizet also minister in the local church in Asuncion.

The Hamleys are newly appointed Free Methodist missionaries to the Mediterranean. Beginning in February of 2006 they plan to visit as many as 72 churches in the New South Conference and the Keystone Conference to before their projected departure on the mission field in early Fall.


 

Stephen and Ruth Hersey

The Hersey's are missionaries to Haiti, serving at Quisqueya Christian School, a multi-cultural Christian school in Port-au-Prince, which provides about 300 English-speaking students with an American-based Christian education. Steve serves as a high school English teacher and Ruth serves as a middle school language arts teacher. Approximately 15-20% of the QCS students are missionary children from a wide spectrum of evangelical agencies. The balance are from Haitian homes or foreign families who are involved in business, health care or service projects in Haiti.


 

Chris and Sarah Kappler

Kris and Sarah Kappler are assigned to Kazakhstan after completing their first term in Korea as missionaries with OMS. Kris is assigned to oversee the Light Association of churches including mentoring young churches and training and supervising new church planters. Sarah is dynamically engaged with three very active children Hannah, Elizabeth and John.


 

Keith and Sharon Madison

After a successful 25 year career as the University of Kentucky's head baseball coach, in 2006 Keith became the SCORE International National Baseball Director. In Keith's new role he ministers to a wide range of persons in the the athletic community, though his primary focus is high school and college baseball coaches. Keith is constantly on the road speaking to teams and coaches at athletic events and also publishes a bi-weekly e-devotional. Sharon also plays a vital part in this ministry. She has retired from a teaching position and now accompanies Keith on his may trips as well as ministering to coaches' wives with her bi-monthly newsletter. Keith and Sharon have attended the Wilmore Free Methodist Church since the early 1980s.


 

Diane Munõz

Diane is a chaplain with Hospice of the Bluegrass. She recently graduated from ATS and has worked with HOB since February of 2006. This summer she begins a one year residency which incorporates hands-on ministry with academic and interpersonal reflections.  Diane feels personally called to hospice chaplaincy and has discovered what a privilege it is to be God's personal expression of love to hurting souls and their families. "It is the most challenging ministry I've ever loved. Your prayers are greatly appreciated." Diane is married and has a young daughter and is a ministerial candidate in the New South Conference of the Free Methodist Church.


 

Dan and Hope Owsley

The Owsleys are Free Methodist missionaries involved in the training of evangelists, planting churchs, and organizing neighborhood outreach programs in Cuiabá, Brazil. Hope and Dan are currently teaching at the newly formed Free Methodist Bible School, training future pastors and lay leaders. Dan is acting as interim director. I addition they also give support to three church plants where Dan often preaches, and Hope helps with children's ministries. Hope develops curriculum, trains teachers and does some translation work for Brazil's International Child Care Ministries.


   

Curt and Mary Spond

Curt is a chaplain in the United States Army and is ordained Elder in the New South Conference of the Free Methodist Church. The Sponds moved from Wilmore to Ft. Campbell Kentucky, in the summer of 2006 at which time Curt was rapidly deployed to Iraq, where he is currently serving. .


 

Josef and Lynette Sykora

The Sykora's ministries in the fast growing, post-communist economy of Slovakia will encompass teaching, pastoring, mentoring and counseling. Josef will serve a very active congregation as associate pastor and will also teach pastors from emerging European FM churches. Many of these leaders need the basics on topics including understanding the Bible, church history and systematic theology. Following the turmoil of wars and communism, many Europeans have experienced brokenness and despair, Lynette sees Christian counseling as an avenue for healing. She will also offer member care to missionaries and European church planters in need of member care. . .


 

Paul and Pat Shingledecker

Paul and Pat are members of the Kentucky Conference of the Free Methodist Church and have been missionaries with World Gospel Mission in Haiti for more than 25 years, primarily with the Christian radio station "Radio Lumière". Recently Paul assumed a new position as a Regional Coordinator for World Gospel Mission. He is responsible for over 100 missionaries in Africa and the United States.


 

Thane and Laura Ury

In 2004 Thane and Laura Ury became career missionaries with OMS. Dr. Ury's 15 years of teaching experience at Bethel College in the Bible Department will serve hiw well in his new role as a member of the faculty at United Wesleyan Graduate Institute. UWGI is a joint seminary of OMS and other denominations sharing a  Wesleyan tradition including the Free Methodist Church of Hong Kong. Thane will teach theology and train Chinese pastors, along with handling some administrative responsibilities. Laura will be involved in prayer ministry and contributing at the International Christian School.


 

Rick and Lesa Winchester

Rick is a chaplain in the the United States Army and an ordained Elder in the New South Conference of the Free Methodist Church. After a 3 year over seas deployment, Rick was finally reunited with Lesa in the summer of 2006. In addition he has just finished Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training. "With that I have also completed all course work for my D-Min. The Army is now giving me 1 1/2 years to complete my project and dissertation." Rick is currently assigned as a Chaplain Clinician at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon , GA. In addition he is also Resource Manager & Training for the Department of Ministry. Lesa is working part-time as a Dental Assistant. Their daughter Jessie is now living in Charlotte , NC and their son Ben is starting his Jr. year at the Univ. of South Carolina.
